Internship Opportunities
Dietetic Internship:
Looking for a rotation site to fulfill part of your dietetic internship? The Nutrition Center provides supervised practice in community nutrition with limited clinical exposure. We are preceptors for UMass Amherst, Russell Sage College, Universidad de Navarra, Spain and others.
We collaborate with our interns to provide experiences and create projects tailored specifically to their individual needs and passions. Our strong presence in the community provides diverse opportunities for hands-on experiences such as developing curriculum and educational materials, teaching cooking classes and/or presenting seminars, implementing outreach events, or researching childhood disease or studying the impact of cooking on children, and much more. Interns will also have the opportunity to gain clinical and counseling hours in the outpatient setting under the supervision of a Registered Dietitian.
Other Opportunities:
The Nutrition Center welcomes interns interested in learning more about the field of nutrition or public health & community wellness. We encourage students to craft their own course of study based on areas of interest. We can point interns to local community resources including community organizations with various demographics, public schools, farmers and other venues in the community. TNC also offers the opportunity for interns to develop senior projects, become involved in food and wellness policy research, understand sustainable non-profit models and have exposure to potential career choices in the nutrition field.
