Katharine Millonzi- Director

An anthropologist and eco-gastronome, Katharine Millonzi was a ’07 Fulbright Fellow to Italy, where she conducted research on traditional agriculture and food production, and simultaneously gained an MA in Food Culture and Communications with the University of Gastronomic Sciences, founded by Slow Food International. She also holds a BA from the SOAS, University of London in Social Anthropology and International Development.

Thanks to her breadth of experiences with sustainable food and social development organisations worldwide, Katharine has an integrative approach to addressing the issues that interrelate the formidable food sustainability challenges of our time. Her vision is to foster in future generations a passion for responsible stewardship of the earth and the rediscovery of vital food. Katharine ran the Sustainable Food and Agriculture Program at Williams College in Massachusetts. She is now employed at the New Economics Institute in NYC, (formerly E. F. Schumacher Society). She is a certified massage therapist, herbalist and finds inspiration in ‘the peace of wild things’.
